PLANNING

Project Management System for contractor covers project life span from award of project to project close out. The project planning is by far the most important element of project management required for success of a project.

 

Preliminary project planning done at bidding stage is elaborated and formulated to come up with a comprehensive PROJECT EXECUTION PLAN. This document is used as baseline for reporting, monitoring and controlling the project till a project is contractually closed.

 

EXECUTING & REPORTING

The execution of the project is to be carried out in accordance with the approved project execution plan. A set of procedures & reports is created to monitor proper implementation of project plan. Some of the procedures include:

Standard weekly and monthly reports are designed to monitor adherence to project plans, identify areas of concern and keep management updated on all aspects of project status.

Above reports provide the management early warning about schedule slippage, budget problems, scope changes, procurement problems, pending approvals. Budget control procedure and Scope & Change Control procedure provides built in mechanism for control. Monthly project review is recommended for controlling or taking corrective action to address identified problems.

 

CLOSE OUT

As the project nears completion stage the project management focus need to shift to different aspects. The reports generated after 90% project completion focuses more on issues required for administrative closure of project, such as:
